Since I took a crack at writing, I actually adapted one person’s style of writing –Tom Clancy. After he made his mark with such books as Hunt for the Red October and Red Storm Rising, some of his books became the basis for movie adaptations. From there, he began to write non-fiction books about the U.S. Armed Forces (Armored Cav, Fighter Wing, Marine, and Carrier) that became best-sellers.
I have collected and read those books and studied his form of writing. The way he writes is known as narrative writing, just like the documentary shows on the History Channel. From there, I try to do some creative writing, much of which is in my site that you are currently viewing/browsing.
In a way, Tom Clancy has been one of many role models for me. My other favorite role model –albeit a fictional one- is Snoopy the dog from the popular Peanuts comic strips. He is forever struggling to be a successful writer.
